The 39 church members of the Pathway International Kingdom Restoration Ministries who were last week charged under the Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA) were fined a total of JM $1,170,000 when they appeared in the St. James Parish Court on Wednesday, October 27.

This means each fined JMD 30,000 or two days in prison; this comes a little over a week after two members died allegedly as a result of a cult-like ritual.

CVM Live spoke with two of the 39 church members who are still in disbelief over allegations against their now deceased leader, Dr. Kevin O. Smith. One expresses how lucky she is to have escaped death on October 17, noting that the Pastor she knew is not the same person she sees being depicted. She adds that she trusted him very much and is still unable to come to terms that he would have done these things. She adds that she has been a member of the church for nine years, during which Smith was only a role model.

The other congregant tells CVM Live she has now put the bizarre incident behind her and intends to worship with her family, she added that she will now be worshipping from home. Both women assert that they have now lost faith in all religious leaders.
