In recent developments concerning the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), the presidential election faces a delay of 28 days. This postponement follows a court injunction granted by Supreme Court Judge Andrea Thomas in response to an application filed by Pat Garel of Beach Soccer Jamaica. Garel asserts that the JFF violated its constitution by listing Beach Soccer Jamaica as an affiliate under Article 12 of Pillar 3 in 2022. Attorney at Law Hugh Wildman, representing Beach Soccer Jamaica, states that during the injunction period, the JFF has the opportunity to address the matter. The injunction expires on February 9, after which both parties will return to court to determine Beach Soccer Jamaica’s participation in the election.
