The Paradise Park solar energy unit is now in full gear, as it seeks to tackle Jamaica’s carbon emissions by approximately thirty thousand tonnes for the year, which is equivalent to seven thousand four hundred vehicles.
Paradise Park is the largest solar energy facility in the Caribbean that is located in the parish of Westmoreland, Jamaica.
Chairman of Eight Rivers Company, Miss Angella Rainford says paradise park is on a mission to change the country’s approach to renewable energy.
The energy company provides an average output of 82 gigawatt hours of power yearly. Also, it will supply energy to the country at 8.5 US dollars per kilowatt hour as part of a 20yr agreement with the Jamaica Public Service (JPS).
