Questions are being raised regarding a vaccination policy and whether Jamaica’s tourism sector is employing the right strategy as it relates to the vaccination and quarantine of tourists. A recent report on CNBC Travel indicated that at least seven Caribbean nations and territories have announced mandatory vaccination policies for incoming adult travellers.
The effects have seen a shift in which Caribbean territories are deemed most attractive to prospective travellers. The report said that “people have more interest in traveling to islands where there are vaccination protocols in place,”, “and their interest among other islands without vaccination protocols is waning.”
