Jamaica Teacher’s Mentorship Programme

In keeping with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Youth, the implementation of a mandatory mentorship programme for all beginning teachers and teachers returning to the professions after five or more years of absence has now become a reality. Following almost two years out of the classroom, the programme is being viewed as timely by many stakeholders.

Ingrid Peart-Wilmott, Chief mentoring officer at the , (JTC) and Rochelle Harris-Burrell, science and special educator at Campion College, trained mentor and founder of the Care Beyond Reach Academy, joined our CVM Live Panel Discussion to explore the merits of a mentorship programme for teachers.
