With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, considerable amounts of wheat, corn, and agricultural raw materials produced by both countries are now off the market due either to sanctions on Russia or Ukraine’s inability to harvest and manufacture.

In addition to the effects on shipping due to the pandemic and the rising price of oil, how much additional adverse impact should we brace for when it comes to the availability of basic food items and the rising cost of the same? And what if anything can we realistically do to help counter those effects?
