A master development plan for St. Thomas is what Prime Minister Andrew Holness is undertaking in an effort to generate more income for Jamaica and enhance the quality of life for the residents.

The newest among the developments, a one hundred and sixty million dollar fire station in Yallahs that is expected to improve the response time of the fire department, and accommodate approximately forty additional staff.

Prime Minister Holness notes St. Thomas is also slated to benefit significantly from the construction of the new highway.

Although residents continue to complain of the dust nuisance from the work being done, he is encouraging them to look forward to the end result.

Prime Minister Holness says there have also been several other developments in the parish and across the country. However, he admits the state of the country’s resources makes it difficult for Jamaicans to see the progress being made.

He boasts his administration has done more developments than any previous government.

He was speaking at the official opening of the fire station on Wednesday.
