Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton recently visited the Cornwall Regional Hospital’s Renal Care Unit, where at least eighteen patients at the facility are benefiting from renal care.

However, Dr. Tufton notes more units are needed, adding there is a long list of persons awaiting care. The Minister says this is becoming a major issue islandwide.

He adds though facilities are trying to maximize the resources to attend to this growing issue, a waiting list will always exist. The Minister also highlights the treatment process is costly.

In addition to the ministry ensuring the resources are implemented, Minister Tufton says it is incumbent on individuals to get tested.
