Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Senator Matthew Samuda, says emergency procurement of services has commenced to address the odor affecting sections of Greenwich Town for years.

The Minister led a delegation comprising Member of Parliament, Dr.Angela Brown-Burke, and a team from the National Water Commission to evaluate concerns raised by residents.

Senator Matthew Samuda recently visited Greenwich Town in Kingston following years of complaints about a foul odor emanating from the nearby sewage plant.

The Minister says plans are afoot to resolve the problem on a phase basis. He notes the renovation is costly.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for South-West St. Andrew Dr. Angela Brown-Burke says residents are breathing a sigh of relief that efforts are being made to resolve the perennial problem.
