Kingston, Jamaica – Iconic Jamaican television drama, Royal Palm Estate is making its return to local television screens this September as CVM Television rolls out its refreshed brand, new programming and talent. This iconic series, set in an old sugar manor in the heart of Jamaica, captivated audiences when it aired from 1994 to 2015, and after years of eager anticipation, is making a triumphant comeback to local television screens.

Royal Palm Estate weaves a captivating tale around the lives of the affluent Blackburn family, who stand as enduring symbols of a bygone provincial era. Set against the backdrop of a modern-day estate, the drama brims with international allure, gripping suspense, heartwarming humour, passionate love, and spine-chilling murder mysteries.

“As we move ahead with the rollout of the new CVM, the return of Royal Palm Estate represents a celebration of Jamaican television heritage and storytelling excellence,” said Oliver McIntosh, Chief Executive Officer at CVM Television. “We are thrilled to bring back this timeless classic to our screens. This rerun is an opportunity for both longtime Royal Palm Estate fans and new enthusiasts to experience the charm, drama, and splendour of one of Jamaica’s longest-running television series.”

With nostalgia in the air and to the delight of viewers who’ve been asking for its return for years, CVM Television will air all 27 seasons of Royal Palm Estate in an exhilarating rerun, much to the delight of veteran filmmaker and Royal Palm Estate Executive Producer, Lennie Little-White

“It is going to be sweeter the second time around,” said Little-White.“The re-broadcast will welcome a new legion of viewers who have become adults since it was last broadcast locally. The judicious blend of comedy, drama, tragedy and romance in Royal Palm Estate will rekindle fond memories and create a new generation of young devotees who will love to look at life in paradise.”

The pilot for the programme was shot in 1991 and started airing on CVM in 1994. The original cast included Carol Campbell, Adam Hyde, Winston Bell, Reggie Carter, Cyrene Tomlinson and John Jones, some of whom have since died.

“Royal Palm Estate represents an authentic Jamaican production, something that we are encouraging more of as we move into this new era of CVM Television. We want to encourage even more local productions and we are starting with bringing back one of Jamaica’s longest-running productions,” McIntosh said.

CVM Television is set to introduce its new talent, programming and content on Monday, September 4, with Khadine ‘Miss Kitty’ Hylton and Dennis Brooks, along with Tami Chin Mitchell and Ity Ellis set to be the new hosts of SUNRISE, Stephen McHugh to join Kerlyn Brown as co-anchors of CVM News at 7 and new local productions such as The Cut hosted by Wayne Marshall, SUNRISE Fitness hosted by Kamila McDonald and Box Lunch Special.

Royal Palm Estate will air on CVM Television every Tuesday and Sunday at 9:00 PM, starting on September 5.
