Political Ombudsman On Vote-Buying Allegations

 

Political Ombudsman writes to Dr Michelle Charles over allegations of vote-buying – Political Ombudsman, Donna Parchment Brown has written a letter to Dr Michelle Charles, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St. Thomas Eastern over alleged vote-buying.

Meanwhile, the People’s National Party (PNP) has written to both Parchment Brown and the Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (EOJ), Earl Jarrett for a full investigation into what it calls “an egregious attempt to bribe voters in Eastern St Thomas”.  

General secretary for the PNP, Julian Robinson says based on a story aired on August 27, 2020, the father/daughter duo of Pearnel Charles Sr. and Dr. Michelle Charles was observed using funds derived from the Government to improperly influence the electoral choices.
