Jamaica Labour Party Files Application For Magisterial Recount

The Jamaica Labour Party is reporting that a request for a magisterial recount has been filed for the constituency of Eastern Westmoreland which was represented in last Thursday’s General Election by the Jamaica Labour Party’s Daniel Lawrence. The final vote count by the Electoral Office of Jamaica ended in a tie that was broken by the Returning Officer.

The application for magisterial recount was filed by Attorneys, Oneil Brown and Martin Thomas representing the Jamaica Labour Party. Meanwhile, lead Party Attorney, Carolyn Chuck,  has assured that a magisterial recount for the constituencies of North East St. Ann, represented by the Jamaica Labour Party’s Delroy Granston and St. Catherine North West, represented by the Jamaica Labour Party’s Newton Amos, will be filed in short order.
