The Pembroke Hall Teacher, Marsha Lee Crawford, who was caught on camera verbally assaulting a student at the school, last November, will continue her tenure at the institution.

The decision follows a disciplinary hearing which concluded that the incident did not warrant the teacher losing her job. Instead she will be reprimanded for her actions. Lee Crawford received widespread criticism but also sympathy from persons who commented on the difficulties teachers face with disruptive and disobedient students.

The recommendations were contained in a letter submitted to the Ministry of Education by the School Board. CVM LIVE understands that the student who was threatened, is now asking for a public apology to be made.

The student no longer attends the institution. The Office of the Children’s Advocate has stepped in. The Jamaica Teacher’s Association awaits a response from the Ministry of Education.
