With approximately 44 children displaced by a massive fire at the Jamaica National Children’s Home just ahead of the back-to-school period, the N.C.B. Foundation moved quickly to donate $3 million to the rebuilding efforts. Members of NCB’s team also handed over a collection of personal care and educational supplies to United Way of Jamaica, a non-profit organisation leading a drive to raise funds for the restoration of the institution.

Chairperson of the N.C.B. Foundation, Thalia Lyn, shared that in addition to helping with the rebuilding of the Home, the N.C.B. Foundation was committed to helping the children to start the school year on the right foot, in spite of the challenging circumstances.

“Helping to rebuild the Children’s Home is a priority for the N.C.B. Foundation,” Lyn noted. “But we also wanted to see how the overall well-being of the children. We are hoping to help them get prepared for the upcoming school year as well, something we know will help to boost their spirits and get them excited about the year ahead.”
