A character witness shared in court that the picture being painted of defendant Dillon Mclean, does not reflect the individual she knows. The witness is adamant that the reserved McLean is innocent of the charges laid against him in the Klansman Gang Trial.

The case for defendant Dillon McLean has officially been closed. A character witness took to the stand to testify.  In the witness box was a neighbor and lifelong family friend of the defendant.  She explained to the court that the mild mannered boy who used to attend prayer meetings in her home with his cousins could not be in a gang. She ran a shop just across from his home and watched Dillon grow from a baby to a young man. She told the court she was in disbelief at his arrest, and that he would engage in criminal activity. She was adamant that he has never carried a gun and never had squabbles with anyone other than his siblings. She is confident that he is a law abiding citizen.

Meanwhile the defense has been given the rest of the week to prepare their arguments, after an hour long deliberation surrounding prison records. The defense checked in court if the records they wanted for their clients were in fact there. Now they will have to track down the officials who penned those notes to meet the legal requirements to submit evidence in their client’s case. The incorrect records from Spanish Town were requested and also put a halt on proceedings in the trial.

An unamused Chief Justice Bryan Sykes chided the defense. He says, what seems to be playing out is that they were waiting on the prosecution to finish their case before they started on their own, resulting in the ongoing disorganization. Court resumes on Monday at 10am where the case for Pete Miller, Kalifah Williams, Donovan Richard’s, and Tareek James will be mentioned.
