Western Parishes Now Seen As COVID-19 Hot Spots

Western parishes, COVID-hotspots: Parishes in the western end of the island are contributing to an up tick in COVID-19 cases.

This surge comes after a steady decline of cases in October.

And as the festive season inches closer, the Ministry of Health and Wellness at a COVID-19 Press Briefing on Thursday, urged the public to exercise greater vigilance.

All parishes have been impacted with daily increases of COVID-19 cases, but of recent concern are Hanover, Westmoreland, St. James, Trelawny and St. Ann.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tufton points out that the Government has no intention of foregoing Christmas, however, the need is to ensure that there is life after Christmas and life to enjoy other Christmases. Dr. Tufton recommends Zoom Christmas parties for the upcoming Yuletide Season
