Just over a month after former Prime Minister Bruce Golding advised Prime Minister Andrew Holness to use his political capital to clean his party, Holness announced a reshuffle of his cabinet. The reshuffle has sparked mixed reactions among some stakeholders. After much anticipation and suggestions for a cabinet reshuffle, commentators and political officials are expressing ambivalence towards the list released by Prime Minister Holness on Monday. Former Senator Dennis Meadows says he wouldn’t consider the act a reshuffle. He says he disagrees with several reappointments listed.
However, Meadows highlights keeping Security Minister Horace Chang was a good move. A decision supported by government Senator Charles Sinclair. Sinclair says he didn’t expect any significant changes, but commends the Prime Minister for the appointment of Homer Davis to the Office of the Prime Minister in western Jamaica. Davis will now oversee and coordinate special projects and major developments in western parishes.
