A Constable in Manchester was allegedly killed by his wife at their home on Monday.  News of the ghastly murder and horrifying images have left loved ones in profound grief, navigating a range of other emotions. The lawman is described as quiet, and progressive, and was a week shy of his 42nd birthday.

Somerset, Manchester was thrown into shock and disbelief after a horrifying incident unfolded there on a seemingly peaceful evening, leaving a man dead and his wife allegedly responsible for the brutal murder. The victim, 41 year old Constable Damien Blair, had multiple injuries to the upper body and head. Investigators alerted to the scene, were greeted with a chilling sight as they observed a firearm and two hammers discarded several metres from the victim’s body. His head baring tell-tale signs of severe trauma. The details surrounding the incident shed light on an allegedly troubled relationship. Fraught with threats, fights, and years of festering discontent. 

Police High Command Reacts to Constable’s Murder

Meanwhile, the police high command is expressing condolences to the late constable’s family, and friends. Commissioner Antony Anderson says the force’s chaplaincy branch and welfare department are providing support where needed. 

Major General Anderson is also renewing his call for members of the public to seek non-violent means to resolve conflicts. He is also urging the public to use the constabulary’s domestic violence intervention centres and other mediation programmes to settle disputes. Watch the report:
