The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kingston East, Phillip Paulwell, says he will be helping a blind man file a negligence case against the government after he fell into an open drain on a sidewalk. 

The Member of Parliament says that the government must be held accountable for the damages. Funds have been allocated and work is said to commence on Monday, to repair a public nuisance and threat, in the form of an open drain on a sidewalk of Windward road in Kingston, which a visually impaired man fell into, in January.

MP for Kingston East Phillip Paulwell says he will be assisting the man with legal representation, as the hole has been there for a while and petitions had been made for a number of years prior to the incident. Work will be done through the National Works Agency (NWA). Watch the report:
