Vaccination Blitz Sites Gaining Traction in Jamaica

Day three of the Pfizer vaccination blitz in Kingston and St Andrew saw scores of citizens at Jamaica College, Merl Grove High School, and St George’s High School turning up to get vaccinated. Their major incentive is grounded in hope that this vaccine now FDA approved, could be their shot at normality in the education sector and life in general.

Parents, children, and teachers were among the crowd on Monday which according to Jamaica College’s floor nurse, Fern Henlon is larger than those at the weekend. These blitz sites focus primarily on children 12 years and older with exam students aged 15-18 years being prioritized. Since face-to-face classes are expected to resume in September, parents are taking the necessary step to ensure their children go back to physical school.

Students too are looking forward to the possibility of resuming classes after attending primarily online
