The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Fair-Trading Commission(FTC) are to be relocated as a single entity to Connolley Avenue, Marescaux Road.

Work on the building is estimated to be completed by the last quarter of this year. The long-approved merger is primarily to execute the functions of the Consumer Protection Act.

Chief Executive Officer, CAC, Dolsie Allen notes that given the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic the Commission had a resolution rate of 80.11 percent as it related to complaints. In regards to compensation and refund to customers in the last quarter of 2020, she announced that electrical equipment and appliances accounted for 36.9% of the collection.
