Uncertainty and long lines continue to be a feature at a number of the nation’s courts, as motorists seeking to pay their outstanding tickets voice concerns about how the process is being handled ahead of the February 1 deadline. Director of Communications at the Court Administration Division, Kadiesh Jarrett-Fletcher is urging patience.

Jarret Fletcher explained that before the matters are listed for court, the court staff must first locate the tickets, which can often be a lengthy process. One motorist, who admitted to being frustrated when he found out about the procedure firsthand, has now resigned himself to trusting the process. The surge on the courts is expected to continue as outstanding ticket holders now have just three more workdays to clear their records.
