CVM Live has confirmed that two of three flights expected from the UK over the next 24 hours have been canceled.

One of the three flights arrived in the island earlier this afternoon at the Norman Manley International Airport.

Passengers were earlier advised of landing possibilities tomorrow but have since been left disappointed.

Nearly 300 passengers who disembarked the flight this afternoon  will be subjected to a minimum of 48-hour state quarantine and PCR testing.

The ban follows news of a newer, more contagious wave of coronavirus in the UK.

Jamaica’s ban came this afternoon with the immediate effect lasting two weeks, up until January 4, 2021.
