Triple Murder Rocks Quarry Community In St. James

Triple murder rocks Quarry Community- The bloodletting in St. James continued Sunday night, leaving three people including an elderly woman dead in Quarry. This follows the murder of three people at the weekend in the adjoining community of Norwood.

The weekend saw a total of 25 killings across the island. Tensions remain high in the communities of Quarry and Norwood in St. James, following a series of deadly attacks. The most recent incident, a triple murder in Quarry on Sunday night.

Reports are that at about 6 pm a group of people was gathered at a section of the community when a white van drove up. Men alighted from the vehicle opening gunfire and when the shooting subsided seven persons were injured and taken to hospital.

Three were pronounced dead and the others were treated. Dead are 77-year old Estrianna Wilson, Dwight Mccallum a 47-year-old barber  and a 29 year old musician identified as  Davieon Mcpherson.

Minister of National Security and Member of Parliament for the North West St. James constituency, Dr. Horace Chang, says security presence will be increased. He was speaking during a tour of the area.

Quarry was recently under curfew and was only relieved of the security measure a week ago.
