The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) will receive 50 additional buses to assist with the shortage across the Kingston metropolitan area. This comes as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Ministry of Transport and a major transport entity.

Shaw notes in the near future is the intention of converting the other 45 into bio-diesel buses. The Minister also says there are plans for the acquisition of compressed natural gas buses.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed by both the Ministry and JR Wellington is to bolster the fleet of the JUTC and increase efficiency while transporting commuters in the Kingston metropolitan area.

The Ministry says the MOU also signifies the government’s commitment to transporting persons in comfort and safety. More details in the report:
