Senior Strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, Delano Seiveright, is welcoming the government’s decision to dismiss the COVID-19 pre-testing requirement for travel to Jamaica.
He says this move is necessary to boost tourism after suffering a major blow from the Covid-19 pandemic. A big step in the right direction is how Delano Seiveright, describes the recent announcement of the removal of pre-testing to travel to Jamaica, effective April 15.
He says many countries around the world are reviewing their Covid measures, to rebuild their economy. Seiveright points out that after two years of the covid-19 pandemic, it is important the tourism sector returns to normalcy. The Senior Strategist went further, stating that the resilient corridor has served its purpose in the industry, where hoteliers and visitors understand the importance of protecting themselves from the virus. He adds despite the removal of some restrictions, not much has changed. The rolling back of the Covid-19 requirements will include the removal of the mask mandate for indoor spaces.
