Transport operators were not speared by the police officers in sections of the corporate area on Thursday, as they were issued additional traffic tickets. This comes over two weeks since operators staged a three-day protest calling for an amnesty for outstanding traffic tickets and to reform the ticketing system.

President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services (TODSS), Egeton Newman, says meetings were held with the Transport Ministry to discuss a payment plan rather than an amnesty. He notes the strike on Thursday morning by some operators was not a unanimous decision. He says following the meeting on Wednesday evening, they were informed they should receive a response as early as next week to determine the way forward. However, Justice Minister Delroy Chuck is of the view that ticket fines must be paid once they are issued. Watch the full report for more details:
