Three people are dead and some seven others injured following a two-vehicle collision in St Thomas Tuesday evening. The bloody ordeal has left one stakeholder group calling for greater vigilance and care when driving.
Flashing police lights, mangled metals, and crowds of people along the road. All evidence of something gone horribly wrong in the vicinity of the grants pen leg of the southern coastal highway in St Thomas on Tuesday.
It is understood, around 7 in the evening, two Toyota Probox motor cars, driving on a closed section of the road, collided head-on. Up to news time, at least three of the 10 occupants were confirmed dead. They are Maurice Hinds, a Taxi Operator from St Thomas, Errol Taylor, an accountant from Kingston, and Mark Deliser, a security guard, also from St Thomas.
The other passengers are said to be admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital and the Kingston Public Hospital. Meantime, the President of the Eastern St Thomas Taxi Association, Kirk Brown, is calling on drivers to exercise caution.
