In this CVM Live follow up, bus and taxi operators in Linstead engaged in an operation recently to get the attention of the transport authority. This follows years of complaints of congestion and the park being too small to accommodate taxis.
Since then, operators have now relocated to the main transport centre which they say is more acceptable. Taxi operators in Linstead St. Catherine have been relocated to the town’s main transport centre. A much more spacious location than the previous park. The Linstead and Bog Walk Taxi Association conducted a drill on February 15 to highlight the congestion in the park.
Speaking with CVM Live, Manager of the Linstead Transport Centre, Christopher Angus says the centre has proven to be more feasible. Angus also notes while commuters may take some time in adjusting to the transport centre, it’s important that they do. He says management will also bolster security surveillance for the safety of commuters. Meanwhile, this employee of the transport centre says he’s in support of the transport operators utilizing the space.
