PNP Councillor and Minority Leader for the KSAMC Andrew Swaby is re-energizing his call for more street lights across the municipality. He’s urging the JPS to act on the requirements outlined in the corporation’s resolution, to repair street lights within fourteen days of damage. Minority leader of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation Andrew Swaby is calling on the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) to install and repair street lights within the municipality, as stipulated in a resolution by the corporation.

Swaby says too many communities are without street lights. He notes that the reality is that it is a safety hazard for residents and affects policing. Speaking at a town hall meeting on Saturday, Swaby says the JPS must act more efficiently to help prevent insecurities across the municipality. The resolution stipulates that defective streetlights in the municipality must be repaired within fourteen days or less, from the date it was reported.
