The support remains strong for former Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Robert Montague amid his unexpected resignation from the cabinet. Members of Montague’s constituency vowed their support for the member of parliament and his decision to step down.

Roughly two months ago, taxi operators and other members of the transport sector were bewailing the reshuffle of former Transport and Mining Minister, Robert Montague, as he was reassigned to minister without portfolio in the ministry of economic growth and job creation. Similar sentiments are being expressed towards the embattled Member of Parliament’s decision to resign as a Cabinet Minister. His resignation follows the integrity commission’s report on investigations which states he allegedly approved gun licenses for persons with criminal backgrounds during his tenure as security minister.

However, members of Montague‘s western St. Mary constituency appear to be brushing that aside, as they pledge to CVM LIVE, their continued support for Montague. They say they are deeply saddened by his decision to step down as minister, but remain supportive of his decision.  More details here:
