As it draws nearer to the new school term, over 500 children from St Catherine were given school bags at a special back 2 school event, hosted by the Pollyanna Project and Partners, Saturday.
The children benefited from the generous offer which included various treats and activities. President of the Elevation Cycling Club, Velana Creary, expressed her joy in giving back to the community. Creary says the annual event has been going on for 28 years, not only in Jamaica but globally.
Meanwhile, her sister, Executive CEO of Pollyanna Project, Donna Stewart, says the project was renamed in honor of her mother, who died six months after it was founded. She stresses the importance of education and helping to enhance learning for children. Watch the report below:
