The Jamaican government is set to invest approximately 270 million U.S. dollars in irrigation for plains in St. Elizabeth.

According to Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Matthew Samuda, parishes like St. Elizabeth, Trelawny, and St. Mary boast some of the nation’s most resilient lands. He emphasizes that productive lands, elevated above sea level with access to water, are crucial for Jamaica’s survival and future.

These remarks were delivered by Minister Samuda in Portland during the College of Agriculture, Science, and Education (CASE) Research Symposium.
