The Senior Medical Officer at the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital is warning of delays in medical delivery to non-emergency cases following Sunday’s fatal two-bus collision. The fatal accident which has so far claimed two lives is significantly impacting operations at the hospital.
Given the extensive number of patients who have sustained injuries that will demand a lot of operating time, as members of the public scheduled for elective surgeries may be affected.
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Tanya Hamilton at the St. Ann’s Bay Regional Hospital says there have been many injuries mostly to the upper bodies of the victims, who are currently undergoing surgery. She notes attention required for the victims has put a damper on the facility as other matters are experiencing delays.
While the hospital works assiduously to attend to the injured patients, Dr. Hamilton is appealing to members of the public to exercise patience. Watch the full report below:
