Amendments to the Casino Gaming Legislation were passed in the Upper House last week Friday, but not without concerns from the opposition.

According to the government, the 11-year-old Act is being amended to further stimulate economic growth amid the COVID-19 pandemic, by delivering more investments and jobs in the casino industry.

The opposition is of the view that a more robust consultation process is needed, as the proposed amendments are insufficient.
