The residents of Black Smith Lane, Seaforth (St. Thomas) are seeking government assistance amid recent flooding. They say they have been facing challenges even before the impact of the weather system, but the continued rainfall has worsened their situation. 

 Residents, while voicing their disgruntlement, tell CVM LIVE they have been calling for assistance long before the hurricane, to no avail.  One woman says the damage they are experiencing could have been avoided if the authorities tended to their requests in a timely manner. She says residents are conflicted as to whether they should utilize the shelters provided, or stay home and tend to their belongings. 

They are calling for a grind to be built to prevent the river from overflowing and flooding the area.

Several efforts to contact the NWC for a comment on the situation Tuesday have proven futile. Watch the full report below:
