Education Minister, Fayval Williams is calling on school boards and other stakeholders to make decisions relating to uniforms and grooming. She says it is not the Ministry’s intent to make such decisions. Her remarks follow weeks of robust debate about schools barring students’ entry for alleged breaches of the institution’s dress code.
During a post-cabinet media briefing on Wednesday, the Minister says students should be guided by fair policies. Meantime, Williams stressed the importance of discipline in schools while reflecting on students at Godfrey Stewart High School in Westmoreland who ran afoul of the school’s dress code last month.
