The shooting death of a local music producer from Grants Pen has fueled anger for some residents who took to the streets in protest, Wednesday, December 29. 2021. Police say the producer was involved in criminal activity, suggesting that he was not as innocent as residents claim.

Through the thick of the smoke coming from nearby roadblocks, plaque-card bearing residents told our news team to follow a trail of blood to his home. Residents say the 29 year old was cooking food for his grandfather on Tuesday night, when he was called out by police and shot in his living room.

His girlfriend says he is a caring man who stays out of trouble. Residents also singled out an officer who they alleged has been terrorizing and extorting community members. However, Commanding Officer for the area, SSP Aaron Fletcher says investigations suggest otherwise.  

Winston Ennis, Councillor for the division says he’s working to prevent the flaring of tempers in the area that will set back the positive work done in the community.

Tadmar was a music producer who worked with dancehall artiste, Jashi on the record ‘Cream of the Crop.’
