Labour Minister, Karl Samuda is anticipating a change soon to protect workers in all sectors. He has promised to again table the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Bill in parliament, after a long and rigorous review process. 

The changes made were based on recommendations that came out of thirty-nine sittings of the Joint Select Committee on the matter. Minister of Labour and Social Security, Karl Samuda is confident that with the changes, the bill will be swiftly approved in parliament. He believes the country is in dire need of a bill to protect all workers.

He says the new bill will be coupled with public education and awareness campaign. The OSH Bill will replace the factories act of 1943, as modern legislation that caters to the new realities of the country. Watch the full report below:
