In a chilling incident reported at approximately 2:15 am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Crawle District in Riversdale St Catherine was rocked by a quadruple murder that has left the community in shock.

The victims identified are as follows:

  1. Kerrian Higgins McGrath, aged 45, born on September 26, 1978, a farmer from Crawle District, Bog Walk P.O., St. Catherine. She was discovered in an upstairs room, wearing a burgundy tank top and burgundy tights, with a white sweater tied around her waist, lying lifeless in a pool of blood.
  2. Dorothy Higgins – Her lifeless body was found in a downstairs bedroom, dressed in a grey tank top, black and white skirt, and black slippers, lying on her back.
  3. Dianne Nicola Johnson, aged 38, born on June 1, 1985, a helper from Toms Hope, Fellowship PO, Portland. She was found in a downstairs bedroom, dressed in a white t-shirt, camouflage pants, and blue socks, lying on her side in a bed.
  4. Kevin – His body was discovered in a downstairs bedroom, wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, lying on his back in a bed.

In this horrifying incident, three men dressed entirely in black and wearing masks, armed with handguns, forcibly entered the residence by breaking open a front door and grill. Once inside, they interrogated the victims before opening fire, tragically ending the lives of all four victims. The children present in the house managed to escape and sought refuge in a nearby residence. The assailants fled the scene, and their means of escape remain unknown.

The police were swiftly alerted and arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, the lifeless bodies of the four victims were discovered. Additionally, it was reported that a fifth individual was heard crying for help in the nearby bushes, but efforts to establish visual contact proved futile.

Inspector MC Malcolm, Woman Corporal Vassel, and teams from the Bog Walk Police Station, Riversdale Police Station, Linstead OST, and CIB responded to the incident, launching an investigation into this horrific tragedy.
