Following through on his commitment Linstead Councillor Herbert Garriques has cleaned a gully that was in dire need of attention. The gully, over the years, posed a major health and safety risk for residents in St Catherine. The clearance now means that water runoff from the main town of Linstead will no longer flood the area.

Residents of Bronx Street which is locally referred to as Puss Gully in Linstead St. Catherine can now anticipate better drainage and road conditions.  The sinkhole, located on the stretch, which had been clogged for approximately seven years, caused flooding, and significant road damage. The St Catherine Municipal Corporation aided Linstead Councillor Herbert Garriques in executing the clean-up.

One resident who bore witness to the unclogging attests to the major flooding that takes place in the area when it rains, however, he says more effort is needed.
