Embracing the new age of technology, motorists could soon experience the Traffic Ticket Management System (TTMS); TTMS is an online portal developed to pay and query one’s ticket status. The system has been developed and tested in government agencies since last October and it is expected to roll out soon to ease the burden of outstanding tickets.
With the aim of restoring public order to promote growth in Jamaica, the Public Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) has designed the TTMS to allow road traffic offenders to pay outstanding tickets online. During a recently held press conference on public order and safety, PSOJ Chairman, Lieutenant Commander George Overton, says a public education campaign will accompany the roll out of the electronic portal to guide motorists. He notes when a motorist is issued an e-ticket by the police, they will be able to use their smart device to pay online at the same time.
