Efforts are underway to ensure a successful two weeks as Members of the Police High Command toured several communities in the corporate area now under the State of Public Emergency (SOPE).
The Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, and members of his team toured several communities on Tuesday now under a SOPE; unlike the grim past when many would be peeking from windows, residents lingered outside their dwellings as they welcomed and interacted with the officers.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Stephanie Lindsay says a walk-through is necessary for direct communication between residents and commanders to ensure a successful process. SSP Lindsay says a walk-through gives the commissioner an opportunity to see also first-hand what is happening on the ground. Comparing the current SOEs to previous ones, she is expecting a reduction in murders and shootings. Watch the report below:
