A year of opportunities, that’s how Police Commissioner, Major General Antony Anderson sees the beginning of 2022. While reflecting on the challenges of the past year, Anderson says the police will continue “to enforce laws in the best interest of the overall society.”

Despite the additional challenges brought on by the pandemic, the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, achieved an overall 8 percent reduction in major crimes.  That’s according to police commissioner, Major General Anderson, who was speaking at the JCF’s annual devotion at his old hope road office in Kingston, Monday.

The commissioner also notes that nearly 40 of its members died last year. He adds that trust between citizens and the police remain significant. Commissioner Anderson says often times police focus only on violent crimes, but that shouldn’t be the case.
