The police are calling on parents and guardians to exercise greater monitoring of their children from sexual predators especially at times when they are out of school.

Following recent reports of sexual abuse against two minors in St. Ann, the police are signaling to citizens that more should be done to protect the nation’s children from becoming victims of sexual abuse.

Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis says parents need to be more mindful of the whereabouts of their children and who they are with.

In the case of the thirteen-year-old, she was on her way from a shop in the community, while CVM Live understands that the 5-year-old boy was left with someone known to his mother.

The reports of abuse against the minor come as the country celebrates child’s month. The police are urging citizens not to hesitate in reporting cases of abuse against children.
