A day after an attempted escape from the 100 Man Police lockup, was followed by another startling incident when jail staff came under attack trying to recover the hacksaw blades used to cut the bars.
The unit of specially trained police officers deployed to recover the implements came under attack resulting in riot control measures being employed. Several inmates including former fugitive Tevin Passley who was wanted for the murder of a Police Officer in 2021 and was on the run for a year and a half have been charged for the attack. Sources say 42 persons charged for murder are in custody at the lockup.
The foiled escape is considered the prevention of a major catastrophe that would have resulted in the killing of many civilians in St Catherine.
