The CEO of the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA), Shane Dalling is facing mounting criticism and backlash as opposition PNP called for his removal. In a statement, Opposition Spokesman on National Security and former Security Minister, Senator Peter Bunting says the FLA has become a cesspool of corruption over the last six years.

Senator Bunting cites claims and counterclaims made, by who he describes as “two JLP operatives with intimate knowledge of the entity’s operations”. The call follows Tuesday’s media briefing and previous backlash over the approval of licenses. CVM LIVE first aired concerns about the denial of a Chinese couple’s son’s appeal for arms who was denied. His parents were murdered at their business place last December.

Mr Dalling told the media, the annual reports are delayed due to backlogs in audits from the Auditor General. However, Senator Bunting says it is difficult to discern truth in the allegations about the FLA, without an independent investigation.
