Prime Minister Andrew Holness commissioned the official opening of the new state-of-the-art Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) hub at the Portmore Informatics Park on May 5. Speaking at the opening Mr. Holness underscored the importance of veering away from illicit activities such as scamming for more sustainable incomes.

The development, which is owned by the Port Authority of Jamaica, is a Business Process Outsourcing facility (BPO), and offers employment to over 2000 employees. Prime Minister Holness says this sector is incredibly beneficial to youth and the continued development of the country. He’s urging Jamaicans to seek alternatives to scamming. Holness praises the bpo sector for its role in creating jobs for Jamaicans.

President and CEO of the Port Authority of Jamaica, Gordon Shirley, says he hopes this will be beneficial to the Portmore community.
