A police witness kicked off the proceedings on day 51 of the Klansman Gang Trial; followed by several other witnesses on Wednesday, January 26, to add evidence to the double murder and arson that happened in the wee hours of September 9, 2017.
Photo evidence from the double murder and arson of a home in the new nurseries community in Twickenham Park St Catherine was presented in court on Wednesday. The incident, which happened on September 9, 2017, claimed the lives of the male and female who were occupying the residence. The couple was shot in the house that was then set on fire.
The forensic investigator who was on the scene, and appeared in court as a witness, analyzed several photos that showed the remains of the home and spent shells. Then came photo 082, exhibit 39: Left on the scene were a red lighter and a water bottle that had gasoline which was used to start the fire.
One eyewitness to the event and neighbour to Jermaine Bryan in her testimony recalled hearing two loud bangs as the assailants kicked through entryways to get to Jermaine. Peering into the yard through her window she was able to identify Frazzle; an alleged member of the gang (now deceased) who she says grew up in the New Nurseries community. He stood with another man. Both brandishing guns, while other men carried out the murder and arson. She said she heard quote, “quite a few” gunshots from the time the men arrived until they fled the scene.
As female relatives of the victims appeared in court to corroborate evidence, it would seem the couple kept their relationship private as neither witness knew of their involvement with each other. The court was told that Cedella would return to her home every night. The one and only time she spent away, resulted in her death. Cedella’s relative shook with sobs as she said ” she couldn’t look at the body”.
