A religious exercise at Oberlin High School was disrupted by several students’ odd behavior during the school’s general assembly early Wednesday morning. In a video that has since made the rounds on social media, the horror of screams from the students can be heard, as they toss themselves to the ground, forcing others to rush to their aid. The unusual sight has conjured many theories, with even speculation of a spiritual awakening.
Acting Principal of the Oberlin High School, Antoinette Gray says during the school’s morning devotion “some students were overpowered by the anointing, and started to worship aloud as well, while a few others had to be taken to the nurse because they could not control themselves and a few also fainted.” The school was dismissed earlier than normal, at 10 a.m. A parent of one of the students tells CVM LIVE she was told by the school that her daughter had suffered a panic attack.
